Feelin' Groovy Smash Hit 60s & 70's Show
The Feelin' Groovy Show is a musical walk through the most creative decade that produced some of the most timeless classic hits from the Summer of Love, Motown, the British Invasion and Swinging London. It was the decade that fought war, and asked us to give Peace a Chance, the decade of hippies and free love, and it was the decade that mankind walked on the moon. Building on the emergence of rock and roll from the late 50s, the 60's was a time of turbulence with the Vietnam War but also a time of peace and love which culminated in Woodstock, one of the largest music festivals of all time and the benchmark it created for all other music festivals.
The Feelin’ Groovy Show walks you through the styles, songs and attitudes of this decade, including, if desired, a tribute to Woodstock or Hippies music. The shows feature music from all the international stars of the time: The Beatles, Tom Jones, The Monkees, The Kinks, The Small Faces, The Turtles, The Chiffons, The Supremes, Nancy Sinatra, Cilla Black, Petula Clark, Tina Turner and of course Elvis, as well as some much loved Aussie classics including The Easybeats, The Bee Gees, Normie Rowe and Billy Thorpe amongst others.
Cool River is a six piece band, with their male and female vocals and era-contemporary clothing, enhanced by the energetic and vibrant dance moves and back up vocals of the Cool Riverettes. The bubbling enthusiasm of this show will keep your spirits high all night, as you take to the dance floor and relive the craziest most significant decade in popular culture.
The Cast
The cast of the "Feelin' Groovy" Show includes: Sheryl Scharkie - Lead vocals, Emilia Pirri-Depes - Lead vocals, Evan Ezra - drums, David Neideck - Keyboards & vocals, Jean-Claude Carcaillet - Bass, Peter Hutley - Lead guitar.
Drummer, "The Animal" comments: "People will love this show because of its nostalgia value and the fact that over the 3 hours presentation, there is not one song that you can't sing along to".
With two decades of hits to choose from, the band can perform from a massive list of songs. Any of these songs can be incorporated into a show which means that Feelin' Groovy can make each and every show different, depending on the audience or requests.
We encourage you to attend a Feelin' Groovy show, to dress up for a night of 60's or 70's music, dancing, singing, and to try your hand at some of the signature dance moves of the era such as the Mashed Potato, The Shimmy, The Twist, The Locomotion, The Nutbush, The Swim and of course The Freddie!
